Union of Municipalities of Thrace, in addition to the regional, local, national and international organizations which contribute to the development of the regions, municipalism aspects of the member municipalities, is also organizing trans-frontier cooperation.
Union of Municipalities of Thrace which has cooperation protocols with Union of Municipalities of Turkey, Union of Municipalities of Marmara and other regional unions, agencies and institutions, has also dual and triple cooperation protocols with Union of Municipalities of Ram Thrace Region of Bulgaria and Union of Polis Municipalities of the Thrace in Greece
Union is a local administration union which cooperates with municipalities and regional networks of the countries which are parties to the Contract of Council of Europe.
